Want to teach your kids about business and manufacturing while making learning fun and hands-on? Want them to apply real-world math skills, develop creativity, and understand the value of hard work?

We've put together an exciting, all-in-one "Fun Business For Kids Soap Making Kit" from Main Street Digital Academy—designed for kids ages 8-14 (with adult supervision) to explore entrepreneurship through crafting their own bar soaps. This package turns a simple activity into a full educational experience, combining STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) with business basics. It's perfect for homeschooling, after-school programs, family bonding, or even scout troops!

We first introduce all the parts it will take to make a bar of soap and teach them what it costs to purchase wholesale and put all the parts together to make a product. We then show them what they can sell it for, showing them that side of business.  In this kit we specialize in teaching kids about pounds, ounces, grams and milliliters.  It brings it all together for them to understand the differences.

This bar soap kit includes everything you need to teach kids how to make bar soaps including:

1 lb of soap base of your choice, (1) mold (various types), (1)- 10 ml syringe, (1) 1 ml pipette, 1/2 oz of fragrance of your choice, 1/2 ml of soap dye of your choice, 1 page of labels (not shown), (1) mixing stick, (1) 2 oz spray bottle w/ fine sprayer, directions & quizzes.  (All kid-safe and non-toxic to keep it simple for beginners.)

Expanded Learning Outcomes: This kit goes beyond just making soap—it's a mini-business bootcamp! Kids will:

Learn Manufacturing: Understand supply chains by “sourcing” ingredients (included) and assembling products, fostering creativity and problem-solving.

Apply Math in Real Life: From measuring ingredients to calculating profits, it reinforces school skills like addition, percentages, and budgeting.

Grasp Business Basics: Teach pricing, marketing (e.g., “Design a label to attract customers”), and sales (e.g., “Role-play selling to family”). Emphasize ethics, like avoiding scams (e.g., MLMs) by focusing on real value.

Build Confidence: End with a “Sales Day” guide for kids to sell their soaps (e.g., at family events), tracking profits and learning from “failures” (e.g., “Why didn't this scent sell?”).

We then show them step by step how to make the bar soaps, including all the math they will need to add all their favorite fragrances and colors.

What's Included in the Kit?

Step-by-Step Instructional Guide (Printed : A workbook with easy-to-follow instructions and photos. It covers:

- **Manufacturing Basics**: Introduce all the parts needed to make a bar of soap, including sourcing ingredients wholesale. Teach kids how to measure, mix, and mold safely—explaining concepts like volume, weight, and ratios (e.g., "If 1 oz of fragrance costs $0.50, how much for 10 bars?").

- **Math Application**: Real calculations for costs, profits, and customization. Kids learn addition/subtraction for ingredient costs, multiplication for scaling recipes, percentages for profit margins (e.g., "If it costs $1 to make and sells for $5, what's your 80% profit?"), and fractions for adding fragrances/colors (e.g., "Add 1/4 tsp of colorant per batch").

- **Business Side**: Show how to calculate total costs (e.g., $0.50 per bar wholesale vs. $4-5 retail), set prices, and market products. Include templates for creating a "business plan" (e.g., "How many bars to sell for $50 profit?") and labeling/packaging for selling at lemonade stands, school fairs, or online (with parent help).
